Transfer Printing

Branditright person

The Process Behind Custom Printed Clothing

What is Transfer Printing?

Transfer printing is perfect for small quantity orders that require 1 to 2 colours. It is mostly used for text or simple looking designs.

It’s perfect for T Shirts as the print is soft to the touch and does not irritate your skin. Additionally it is ideal for Hoodies, Sweats, and Aprons.

They are also perfect for Hen do party t shirts and Personalised hi vis vests.

There are Pros and Cons to using transfer prints:

Pros

  • Low cost
  • Perfect for small orders
  • Feels great to the touch

Cons

  • Limited colours to pick from
  • Small details are hard to achieve
  • Heat press cannot be used on certain garments (e.g softshell jackets)

How does Transfer Printing work?

step 1

We stock several rolls of textile coloured vinyl. This is a specialist vinyl that is made for garments. Once loaded into our plotter, the computer communicates with our machine and instructs it to cut your design in reverse out of the vinyl roll.

step 2

Once the plotter has done its job, the excess vinyl that is not needed is then weeded away to leave your design on a transparent film. The film is then cut up ready for the heat press.

step 3

An industrial heat press is then used to seal your transfer (once flipped) and the clear film is peeled away to leave your design or logo on the garment. The garment is then pressed for a final seal to the garment.

Colours

What colours are available?

There are 40 different colours to pick from (see image) so you are likely to find a colour to match your brand or close to.
